The Société Belge d’Investissement International (SBI) pursues the mission of medium to long-term cofinancing of foreign investments by Belgian enterprises with a view to protecting the interests of the host country and the economic interests of its own Belgian clients.
Working alongside its Belgian enterprises the SBI proposes made-to-measure financing solutions, due account being taken of the particular needs and risk profile of each individual project. Against this backdrop the SBI stands out as a distance-running partner, actively seeing the project through to a successful conclusion.
Member of the World Bank Group, the IFC is the biggest world development aid institution whose activities concern exclusively the private sector.
The IFC was created in 1956 and its capital is held by 184 Member States, all jointly mapping out its policies. The action that it now conducts throughout more than 100 developing countries allows the businesses and financial institutions in emergent countries to create jobs, generate fiscal revenue, strengthen the government and management of firms of and improve quantifiable results in terms of environment, and to contribute towards the welfare of their communities.
Founded in 1959, the IADB is today the main source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and throughout the Caribbean.
The IADB obtains its own financial resources from its 48 Member States, loans arranged on financial markets and trustee funds administered by the IADB, and through cofinancing operations.
Based in Washington DC, the IIC is a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). This multilateral organization was founded in 1985 to promote the development of the private sector in its Member States throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, with particular attention to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
In the context of its present mission it helps businesses to streamline the management processes and provide them with financing in the form of loans, participations, shareholdings and guarantees. It also offers consultancy and training services through its FINPYME programme, in which SOFINEX is involved via the FINPYME EXPORTPLUS programme.
